There's more to life than being ridiculously good looking

This is Emmie's latest grumpy look that she gives us if she gets in trouble. More often than not it looks like Derek Zoolander's 'Blue Steel' face. She probably does it on purpose because we always laugh and then she is off the hook. Also we're going to start calling her Baby Holyfield because she has decided she can give anyone a good beat down. I now tell people at work that I fell down the stairs and that's how I got all those scratches on my face. In less than 15 minutes in sacrament meeting she scratched a 6 month old, pushed over a 12 month old, and then pulled the hair of 3 year old. She spent the rest of the day in the penalty box. On the bright side she will say she's sorry and give you a hug.

Eva's Magic trick

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I did Eva's hair today and a few minutes later she stared crying because she lost one of her hair bows we looked everywhere and no hair bow was to be found. So I took her into the bathroom to do a new hair style and her hair bow was still in her hair we just couldn't see it because her hair was so thick it was covering it up. As you can see it's not a small hair bow.

She's on to us

Lately Eva won't go to bed without this silly green bear that she picked up at my mom's house. I think it's my little sister Emily's that ended up at our house somehow. By the time we put their special jammies on and get their sippy cups and find the binky for Emmie, we are in no mood to find this silly bear. So we have been telling Eva that we'll look for it, and then she falls asleep and we fall asleep and forget all about it. But last night our smart little girl said " Daddy you say you're going to find my bear but then you just fall asleep. It's not fair. " So we really had to find it last night

Last week we were watching a neighbor's little boy who is a little older than Eva. He was doing all the typical little boy things; making everything into swords and breaking things. Then Eva said "He's naughty that's why his mom dropped him off, isn't it"

slip cover

Thursday, February 5, 2009

When I worked at a Furniture store I would talk about how wonderful microfiber was and how it was easy to clean. Now I feel sorry for all the customers I suckered into buying it even myself. It dose clean easily. You can get most things out like pen and chocolate and even blood, but the big problem with it is if you even get a tiny drop of water on it it will look all stained and dirty until you wash the whole cushion back and arms to get it to look all the same. About twice a week I would wash my whole sofa arms back sides and seats. It sucked!!!! I'm not a huge fan of slip covers unless they are customize to each sofa (which I cant afford) but I broke down and got a cheap o one from overstock it was just over $30 to save my sanity.

They sell little foam peices to go in the back and sides to prevent slipping but they were around $25 almost as much as the slip cover and the cheep crafty person that I am decided to find a way to make my own so I cut up pool floaties from the dollar store and put them on the back and sides and this is what I got. It will hold me off buying another sofa until Nate is done with school

Million dollar idea

Sunday, February 1, 2009

So this is Nate posting. I know I shouldn't post the same day Gretta posts stuff, but I have her permission. Besides friends this is your lucky day to invest in my million dollar idea. Any of you who have taken a pregnancy test and had it come up negative may have thought to yourselves "what a waste of 10 bucks", or as I like to say "you just pissed on 10 bucks". So if you're gonna do it, let's do it right. I present to you my friends the Ten Dollar Pregnancy Test. The test itself looks like a ten dollar bill. Go ahead and pee on Alexander Hamilton's face. If you're not pregnant:

President Hamilton will give you that classic "better luck next time" face.
But if you are pregnant . . .

You'll get the Presidential Wink!
Congratulations mommy and daddy!

(by the way, yes Gretta is pregnant)

before and After church

I'm silly I spend all this time worrying about how the girls are going to look at church. I put them in their Sunday best and make sure their hair looks nice and give them a bath so they aren't all stinky and .....

then Emmie pulls her hair out. Then she cries so hard when I drop her off in nursery that she threw up everywhere so she stinks like crazy. Then she eats chocolate snacks so her face is all messy. Then Eva's hair falls all out of her pony tail and she just has to take her tights and skirt off as soon as we get in the car to go home

but they look so happy. What ya gonna do?

Girls in bikinis and fine art

Sunday, January 25, 2009

We figured in these tough economic times that we would like a hot tub. Unfortunately we cannot afford one nor do we have a place for one. So Eva improvised us a nice hot tub using one of her little bowls and her Polly Pockets. Sorry for the immodesty.
Since I've gone back to school, Gretta has decided to do more artwork to pass the time. Here is what she can do if I go to school for a week. Pretty impressive for a girl with a paroxysmal dyskinesia. I'm bragging for her. If you don't believe me just check the spelling. :)Eva is pretty funny as normal. Here are a few memorable things she's said over the past few days:

(as Nate was getting dressed) Eva: Daddy, Why are you wearing those pants?
Nate: Because I don't have to go to work today, I'm going to wear jeans.
Eva: I don't like those pants. I like your work pants.
(despite the feedback I did not change my pants)

(Eva singing 'I lived in heaven a long time ago') Eva: Then Heavenly Father presented a beautiful plant.

(When Gretta was stomach sick and had to throw up) Eva: Oh!, you're throwing up? Oooh there's some more. Oh and more ... and more ... and more. Looks like eggs, and pineapple , and juice . . .
Gretta: Nate! Come get her out of here!
