Poor Emmie is allergic to strawberry I do a great job Keeping the real ones away from her but I gave her a Strawberry flavored mentos not thinking much about it and she got a bad rash around her mouth. Poor thing Mommy is sorry. Good thing she is still happy

Eva's big complement

Friday, March 27, 2009

Since I've been sick and pregnant and pregnant and sick, Eva and Emmie often hear "you have to wait a little while, Mommy isn't feeling good and has to lay down" Today I was feeling really good for the first time in weeks and was able to play with the girls a lot more then usual. We had a very fun day playing with dolls, singing song with lots of actions, and playing games. Then before Eva went to bed she said "Wow Mommy you're nice like a babysitter!" Now I see why she is always asking me if I have a Dr appointment so she can go to a babysitter. So thank you to anybody who has babysat our girls. You do a great fun job.

Halloween Preparations

Thursday, March 26, 2009

The key to making a good Halloween costume a great Halloween costume is preparation. What if I want to be Jack Sparrow? Now is the time to prepare. Gretta graciously helped me put my goatee into 'goat tails' as I call them. I just have to give them time to grow; plant in the spring, harvest in the fall. And if I decide to change my mind by Halloween, just shave the tails and BAM! Magnum P.I., or Lt Dangle. Keepin' the options open.

fun in the sun

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

During Spring Break Nate put in some sod in the back yard. Is so nice to have grass it feels more like home. Good thing we have are little plumber helper Emmie to put in the sprinklers
the Girls had a lot of fun watching Daddy put the yard in. The weather couldn't have been better it was in the mid 70's the whole week it was lovely

Happy Anniversary (6 Wonderful Years)

Thursday, March 19, 2009

We just got done celebrating our 6th anniversary. It's tough to follow last years trip to Roswell and the UFO Museum. The only thing more romantic than an alien autopsy is an Indian Casino. Isleta Resort and Casino (emphasis on the resort), to be more specific. Not as cheesy and tacky as you would think. Actually it was very nice, a lot nicer than we expected. Anyplace that serve chateubriund for two for dinner, and has a hot tub bigger than a lot of houses aint too shabby.
It was a big night for us, especially because it was the first time we spent the night without either of the girls. Gretta didn't even cry and neither did Emmie. Big thanks to Kasey and Chelsea for watching the girls overnight.
Threw in a picture of my stunning wife with her cute baby bump.

Emmie's Yes Day

Friday, March 13, 2009

I am not going to recommend 'Yes Days' for children under 3.

  • Emmie loved walking around like this all day, but without the diaper on.
  • She loved getting into danger and climbing on the counters.
  • She loved smearing lotion all over the mirror in the bathroom ( which I still can't get off so if anyone has advice let me know).
  • She loved stealing toys from her sister.
  • She loved putting things in the toilet and the garbage that didn't belong there.
  • She loved her cake and ice cream that mom let her eat without a fork.
  • She loved her new bubble machine ( We got the idea from Spencer and Kim's blog; man it does make a lot of bubbles).
  • She loved her new drums and noise makers.
  • She loved watching Shrek the Halls over and over and over again.
  • She loved her Barbie balloon (or boon as she calls it) that daddy brought home from work.
  • She loved that mommy stayed with her in nursery.
  • She loved that we cuddled a lot longer then normal and let the house get all messy.
  • And she loved getting chocolate in her bottle before she went to bed.

Eva's Yes Day

Saturday, March 7, 2009

For Eva's Birthdays we give her a "Yes Day" where anything she asked she gets (she's still to young to ask for anything outrageous), so yesterday went very well.

  • Eva got ice cream for breakfast.
  • She had no limits on her chocolate milk intake.
  • Got to play on the computer as long as she wanted (and Mommy did not kick her off once to check her email).
  • She got to eat at Chick-fil-A with one of her good friends and play in the playland as long as she wanted.
  • She got to go to a friend's house for a few hours instead of taking a nap.
  • She got to eat a Chuck E. Cheese (this was the biggest sacrifice because it was the worst food I have ever tasted and it made us all a little sick).
  • She got to have cheese cake for her birthday cake because it's her favorite (this was not a sacrafice at all)
  • She got to ride her new bike in the living room and bring her little outside slide inside.
  • She got to read books as long as she wanted.
  • She got to stay up and watch Mr Bean way after her bed time (this was the second biggest sacrifice because I'm not a big fan of the movie and she was very cranky the next day from staying up too late).
Overall she had a wonderful day and can't wait tell next year's "Yes Day".
