I have so much to be thankful for that I have to post it on here.

I started a new medication at the beginning of October. My Dr told me that the first 4 to 6 weeks are hard but after that it works really really well. When she told me it was going to be hard I had no Idea how hard it was going to be. I could hardly function. It was almost as bad as not being on any medication at all . That means horrible migraines, about 20 seizures a day, passing out, falling down the stairs, and hitting my head on everything. But sure enough, after 4 weeks the medication started working like a charm and I haven't had a seizure or a migraine in a week. That is the longest I have ever gone since I have gotten sick (two years three months and two weeks ago but who is counting).

I am also so thankful that we found a beautiful house in Kaysville. We fell in love with it and made and offer which was accepted. We will be moving in around December 18th. The only problem was Nate's work was in Brigham City, a long 45 minute commute. But fate was on our side. He was transferred to Sunset, a short 15 minute commute.

Appliance Repair for Dummies

Friday, September 10, 2010

So 3 months ago we bought a brand new washer and dryer. We decide to spend the extra money to get a quality set that we can use for a long time. Our salesman recommends a nice Whirlpool set and we decide to buy them.

Then yesterday our nice new washer stops working. Not only does it stop working but when we open the door it dumps water all over our floor. Not what one would expect from a 3 month old 'high quality' machine. "There seems to be a lot of water in there" I say to Gretta. "I don't think it's draining. At least it's still under warranty." we say and we decide and schedule a repairman to come next week.

I'm still more than a little bugged that our washer broke already so I do a little Google research and find out that maybe the filter is clogged. I also find out that parts are covered under our warranty but not labor. I figure I might as well save myself a service charge if it's just a clogged filter. So we pop open the washer to see what lies in the filter.

Okay so we find some loose change, some thread and a paper clip. Huh ... that shouldn't be unexpected when designing a 'quality washing machine'. Let's reach up the drain hose a little and see what we find.

Okay so there is a hair elastic, a bobby pin, and the broken handle of a measuring cup. The measuring cup handle is a little odd. Did that really break my washer? Let's just check to make sure nothing else is stuck in the drain hose.

A sock? Really? My 'high quality washer' decided to drain a sock? It's not even a baby sock. It's a full on manly cotton poly blend Daddy sock. It seems like that should have come up in the early design stages of any washing machine. Maybe we shouldn't allow clothes to drain with the water. Maybe people will wash socks in this thing sometime and we should have some sort of sock blocking device in the drain. Sigh .....

Anywho, I have cancelled the repair service and the 'high quality washer' is washing again. Thank you Google for once again saving me money, and thank you Whirlpool for convincing me to never buy another one of your appliances again.

We are so so so so proud of you Nate. I wish I could express how grateful I feel for all of your hard work and sticking through to the end with so many obstacles, two new babies, countless Dr Visits with me and still getting great grades. You are so amazing we love you So much

This is me cry bawling I couldn't stop for about 10 mins.

Nate's Dad called me a day after graduation and Said "I heard a rumor that you slept with a Dr last night. I was instantly offended. I thought who would spread such a bad rumor? I swear I slept with Nate last night "Oh yeah, he is a Dr. I guess your right"

Eva's song

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Eva's been singing this Hot N Cold song lately. But we like her lyrics a lot better. She sings:

"You're hot in your clothes, You're yes in your nose, Eating out, Lighting the night"

Second verse same as the first.

What are we going to do next?

After a long time in school and 60+ hour work weeks and because it was Gretta's birthday we decided it was time to spoil our family and we took a vacation to Disneyland. We had lots of fun and spent a beautiful week there.

Nana & Grandpa came to meet us at the end of the week to have fun with us and help watch kids while Nate and Gretta went on the scary big kid rides.

Grandpa had fun when we could peel him away from his Blackberry.

Eva and Emmie had lots of princess fun and got their faces painted

The girls had tons of fun meeting all of their favorite Disney characters.

We had a great room inside the Grand Californian. Bunk beds for the girls and just a tiny walk to Disneyland.

Even Alivia thought it was the happiest place on earth.

Eva and Emmie loved sporting their Minnie ears almost all day every day.

We had a 1/2 day left after Disneyland so we decided to go to the beach and dip our toes.

We had a great time, but it does feel nice to be home again even though we have a bunch of packing to do for our move in a couple of weeks.
