Happy 30th birthday Babe

Friday, December 18, 2009

I remember when Nate and I got married, we would dream about fun things we would do or the things we would buy on Nate's 30th birthday, but sadly Nate is just 5 months shy of finishing pharmacy school and we have a 3 month old baby. So fun trips and fancy gifts looked like they were out of the question. Then Nate's car gave us a present; the engine died. So we were able to get Nate the Jeep he has been wanting for a while. He really wanted a 4 door jeep but I think he really likes the Liberty as a good compromise. The end of the year is a great time to buy a car. The car dealership gave us every deal possible and we were able to get an 08 which is much much newer then we were expecting and it has hardly any miles. Nate is as giddy as a school girl, he wanted to drive it to UT but after a test dive with all the girls after just a few miles we wanted to rip our hair out and Alivia was getting malled with love by her sisters. We thought the van would be a better idea.

Eva and Emmie usually don't pay to much attention to the new baby, but this day they couldn't get enough of her they were fighting over holding her all day

I made this centerpiece out of a broken end table, old building blocks my kids never play with, and some old 8 year old ribbon I like but have never found a good use for and some dollar store ornaments. I love giving new life into old thing you normally wouldn't use anymore.

We had a great time putting up our Christmas tree the day after thanksgiving I thought I would take a picture to remember how pretty it is before all the bulbs get taken off and hidden all over the house like easter eggs
My goal is to some day have a mantle to put our stocking on so I don't have to nail them to the wall

Everyone in our family got a little gingerbread house to put together this year it was so much fun. Brownie points to anyone how can guess who made each one.....hint Mommy made Alivia's as well as her own.

Alivia Had a Dr.'s appointment today she is in the 50% for her weight, and at her last appointment she was in the 10% she is growing very fast. She is only in the 10% for her height so she might have to borrow some shoes from her aunt Audrey when she grows up.

Daddy did the girls hair for church all by himself. He was so proud when Eva told him It looked just like when Mommy did it.

The princess jammies are a staple in my girls wardrobe they are rarely seen inside our house without them. I think they get it from their Mommy. The other day I got up and got dressed right away ( instead of at noon) and Eva kept asking where I was going. She didn't understand why I would get dressed without a good reason.

Good odd goings on

We made turkey shaped cookies using the girls hands as a template. Eva was so sad when we pulled them out of the oven and they no longer were the same size as her hand

Nate brought home some flower for me when I was having a bad day and said I think this will be as fun for you to put together as it is for me to put together a lego kit. I love arranging flowers I miss my old job at the reception center doing flowers for weddings.

Emmie found this tutu and thought it would make a better veil

Alivia is starting to smile and coo so much, it melts my heart. She dose seem to smile more for daddy then mommy
Emmies first dry all night diaper, Hurray hurray Its a beautiful day

8 blog updates all in one

For Nate's family Halloween party I dress up like my sister in law Audrey. She has a black eye right now from a bad seizure fall. She seems to have a lot of bruises this year so I was teasing her a little:) Intimation is the best form a flattery right.
The girls enjoyed New Mexico's first snow of the session It lasted almost 10 whole minuets
Nanna and Grandpa got into the Halloween spirit this year
My sister Liz had a baby 4 weeks to the day from Alivia. His name is Corben Keith. We have been calling them Twin cousins
Eva really wanted to be a witch this year so I made matching outfits for Eva and Emmie and Emmie refused to ware Hers so she wore one of the many Princess dresses we already own
Alivia was a candy corn this year. I made this for Emmie when she was a baby but sadly she got croup around Halloween and didn't get to use it. Last year I wanted her to be Tinker bell we got a beautiful expensive dress from the Disney store and she went as Snow White. Do you see a pattern I don't think she likes the costumes I pick. Say la ve
Are ward goes to MaCalls Pumpkin Patch ever year this is the first year we have gone, Nate even had the day off so he could come with us. It was great!!! They had a petting zoo, hay rides, lots of games, and my favorite FUDGE. The girls helped carve there pumpkins that they got at the pumpkin patch. Eva wanted a scary one and we made Emmie's as happy as we could because she was so upset that we were stabbing and gutting her pumpkin.

The Pill Burden

Sunday, October 18, 2009

The pill burden is something you learn about in pharmacy school. Basically the more pills a person is required to take the higher their pill burden is and the less likely they are to take their medication. Anyway Gretta has a big pill burden currently. She takes 9 pills a day right now, and some of them are not small as you see referenced by the quarter. Always impressive when she takes 4 or 5 pills in one gulp. Love you babe, thanks for remembering to take your medicine even though it can be burdensome.

Glad to have all girls

Now that we've had our third girl, people ask us if we're sad we don't have a boy. Our girls have been so sweet and cute that we really don't think about it that much. Plus it would be a lot more disturbing to come home to a boy singing and dancing to Mama Mia. When it's just girls it's cute. No offense if your son, brother, husband, or father likes to sing and dance to Mama Mia.

Eva wanted her little sister to look cool for her fist blog photos

Alivia was 7lb 3 oz 20in long born on Monday Sept 14 @3:34 pm
My dr was very nice and gave me a very early epidural and labor was really fast it was about 6 hours with just a push and a half and she was out. I did shake quite a bit after delivery but during delivery I was ok. I'm starting to feel more and more like my self every day

another baby update

Friday, September 11, 2009

I will be getting induced on Monday sept 14 if I don't have the baby this weekend first :)

They don't call them the terrific two's

Friday, September 4, 2009

We've been struggling a little bit with Emmie lately. Our cute little baby girl is unfortunately acting her age. A two year old terror. Today was exceptionally bad. Here's a rundown of what shed did in about 3 hours:

-She rubbed Gretta's lotion all over our dresser.
-Then she dumped a bottle of baby oil throughout the floors in our house.
-While we were cleaning her up from the baby oil fiasco, she put all the clean towels into the bathtub with her.
-After her bath, Gretta felt bad for yelling at her so much so she got her some juice which she then dumped all over the sofa.
-In between each of these she punched, kicked, and pushed Eva.

We might not have minded so much if today our house hadn't been professionally cleaned (a baby gift from Gretta's friend and visiting teacher Melissa, THANK YOU!). Anyway today was one of those days where we really wanted our little girl Emmie to grow up.

Baby update

Friday, August 28, 2009

I just had a Dr.'s appointment I am almost 36 weeks but the Dr thinks I will be having the baby really really soon. I'm dilated to a 3, 80% effaced, and the baby's head is at -1 station. I'm a little nervous that the baby wants to come so soon hopefully she will be OK.

I really should have listened to anna

Friday, August 14, 2009

Emmie asked to go play outside and like always I said sure. Anna politely remind me that it rained all night and it was really muddy and I most likely would not want my kids to play in it. Being the big sister and (knowing so much more) I did not listen and let them out any way.and this is what pride got me
I'm defiantly feeling very pregnant these days and bending over is almost impossible but only a few more weeks to go :) Anna is flying back home tomorrow we have really enjoyed having her around thanks for all your help sista
